Update...

So much has been going on.

WORK: I have returned to work and have been kept fairly busy. when I first went back to work it proved to be a bit too much for me and my ankle swelled up like a watermelon. So I decided to pick and choose my jobs.I am able to work as much as I want...which ISN'T every day!

PLAY: I have taken time off for "fun." We took the motor home and spent a week at Lake Tawakoni State Park. It was close enough that I could run back home for the wine tastings that I had scheduled. Ronnie got to fish. I got to rest, to read, to ride in the boat, and to sunburn! That last thing wasn't intentional. I just went out in the boat with hubby and BIL and read while they fished. It was the end of September. Who would think you would need sunscreen when it was almost October!! But apparently it was needed. My legs burned to a crisp. Now I'm dealing with the peeling. I also took off on Friday, Sept. 30th, and went to Opening Day at the State Fair of Texas with my SIL and her daughter. We had the best time. The weather was PERFECT! We ate our way through some of the buildings, toured the automobile building and watched the flying car, rested in the "Mongolian" Beer Garden (Magnolia Beer Garden), rode a couple of rides and ate corn dogs and funnel cake. The Windsurf Ride was incredible. It goes upside down, backwards, squirts water at you, etc. Tons of fun...but go to the bathroom before you get on it!

BUNCO: I have started a Bunco group that meets once a month. We have had one meeting thus far and it was so much fun. A perfectly meshed group that acted as if they have known each other their entire lives. We have our next meeting in a few days. I can't wait!!

HEALTH: Good news on the health front. The urologist is going to try medication for six months to see if we can remedy the obstructed bladder. The other option is implanting a neural stimulator in my back, and we still may have to do that, but in the meantime I appear to be responding to the medication. My ankle...not so good. It hurts pretty much all the time I am up on it and has a burning sensation. I seem to have a permanent limp and can't go downstairs leading with my injured foot. This may be something that I just have to learn to live with. I return to the doctor on October 26th so we will see what Dr. Z has to say then.

MISCELLANEOUS: My oldest grandson, Trenton, is playing soccer. We are enjoying going to watch his games. He gets better with every game. While watching Trenton play soccer I usually let Carter, who is three, play with my cell phone. I have several toddler games loaded on it for him. Last night Carter played quietly with my phone for quite some time. When we got in the car to go home I noticed an alert on my Living Social app. It seems that Carter bought me a $166 golfing getaway to Lake Texoma. I rapidly called LS and spoke with someone in customer service who laughed out loud when I told her what happened. She then said, "That's not the first time this has happened." She graciously zeroed out that purchase for me. ::whew!!::

WINERY: I have my federal permit and am waiting patiently for TABC to finish reviewing my paperwork and to issue my permit. I have had to jump through several hoops (redrawing my diagram on THEIR form rather than mine and getting another letter from the bank because they left a number off) but hopefully that will be completed within the week. I have had SEVERAL really successful tastings and have gotten lots of compliments on my wine. I am stockpiling my inventory so that when the permits are issued and the labels are approved I will have stock to sell.

GARAGE SALE: My SIL and I are having a garage sale the weekend of 10/21 - 10/22. This has given me a fantastic opportunity to clean out closets, drawers, cabinets, the garage, etc. You know what they say..."One man's junk is another man's treasure." Boy am I loaded with treasure that I'm about to get rid of!!

DADDY: My dad isn't doing very well. I feel that very soon he will have to move to assisted living. He has, among other things, congestive heart failure. Because of this he has very poor circulation. His legs swell horribly and then turn red and break out in blisters. He has begun falling with some frequency and can't get up. He has had to call the fire department twice to help him up and one night he spent the entire night on the floor until a neighbor came over the next morning. He falls asleep at the drop of a hat. He has fallen asleep at the table while eating and fallen out of his chair into the floor. He fell asleep on the toilet and hit his head on the counter and cut open his arm. He wants to live independently as long as possible, but he recognizes that it won't be that much longer until he has to move.

HALLOWEEN: I have gone kind of nuts decorating for Halloween. I was introduced to a website called pinterest.com which has exposed me to tons of ideas...many of which I have copied. I am not creative. I can't dream it up but I can sure as heck copy it. I love the holidays...whatever holidays...and I love to decorate for them. I am having a blast!!

Well, you are now caught up. Don't you feel "in the know?" Till next time...make each day special.
