Change is good!

I am a fan of change. It breaks up the boredom and keeps everything fresh and new. With that said, I am making a temporary "career" change. To set the record straight, I am technically retired...have been since June, 2008. That does not mean, however, that I have not been working. I have. I got bored with retirement because all the people I would go out and do things with were still working. So, I started working as a sub first in Forney ISD and then in Rockwall ISD. The next thing I knew I was working every day. :( I started reaching the point early this year that told me I am done with subbing. I just don't enjoy it like I used to and now my hubby is retired, too, so we can travel, go to movies and out to eat during the day, and just generally enjoy our retirement. My problem is that I am not a quitter. If I start something I will finish it. So I determined that I would finish this year and then not sub any more. That doesn't mean, however, that I can't take a short-term sabatical...for a good cause! In January my third grandson was born. :) My daughter took twelve weeks semi-maternity leave where she worked from home. Now it is time for her to go back to work, but she has been struggling to find the right childcare situation. When she did finally find the right place they didn't have any openings until May. So....I got a promotion! I get to keep the two youngest boys for about three weeks until their new school has openings for them! I feel blessed! After my tenure as their sitter ends I will go back to subbing for a month to finish out this year and then I AM DONE! Time to travel and have some much deserved fun during my "golden years." Lol! I plan on making the most of my time with our boys for the few weeks I have them, though. I can see some walks in the sunshine and trips to the park in my very near future! :)
